เมื่อวันที่ ๒๒-๒๔ กันยายน ๒๕๕๗ สถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงกัวลาลัมเปอร์ ได้ร่วมมือกับสำนักงานคณะกรรมการการอุดมศึกษา จัดกิจกรรมสร้างเครือข่ายนักศึกษาไทย-มาเลเซียขึ้น โดยการนำคณะนักศึกษาจากประเทศไทยและนักศึกษาไทยจากภูมิภาคต่าง ๆ ในมาเลเซียเยือนกรุงกัวลาลัมเปอร์ เพื่อพบปะ แลกเปลี่ยนข้อคิดเห็น และสร้างเครือข่ายกับกลุ่มผู้นำนักศึกษาไทยในมาเลเซีย และศึกษาดูงานด้านสังคมพหุวัฒนธรรมในมาเลเซีย ในโอกาสนี้ คณะนักศึกษาไทยได้มีโอกาสพบหารือเพื่อสร้างเครือข่ายและหารือเกี่ยวกับการสานต่อความสัมพันธ์และทำกิจกรรมร่วมกันกับผู้แทนสภานักศึกษามหาวิทยาลัยอิสลามนานาชาติมาเลเซียและมหาวิทยาลัยมาลายา เข้าเยี่ยมคารวะเพื่อรับโอวาทจากนายกฤต ไกรจิตติ เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงกัวลาลัมเปอร์ รับฟังการบรรยายสรุปจากสถาบันความเข้าใจศาสนาอิสลามฯ เกี่ยวกับการอยู่ร่วมกันของคนต่างศาสนาในมาเลเซีย และแนวทางการเรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับประเทศเพื่อนบ้านในโอกาสที่มาเลเซียกำลังจะเข้าสู่ความเป็นประชาคมอาเซียนจากภาควิชาเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ศึกษา มหาวิทยาลัยมาลายา รวมถึงได้ศึกษาเกี่ยวกับประวัติความเป็นมาของกรุงกัวลาลัมเปอร์ซึ่งเป็นเมืองที่สร้างมาจากการร่วมมือกันของคนต่างเชื้อชาติอีกด้วย

 

On 22-24 September 2014, the Royal Thai Embassy, in collaboration with the Office of the Higher Education Commission, organized a Thai-Malaysian university students networking programme. On this occasion, a group of 23 Thai students, drawn from some 20 universities in Thailand and Malaysia, were gathered in Kuala Lumpur with a view to promoting friendship between young leaders of Thailand and Malaysia, and expanding the vision of young Thai leaders with regard to multi-culturalism. The group was given opportunities to engage in discussions with representatives of the Students Representative Councils of International Islamic University Malaysia and University of Malaya. They also received briefings from the Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia regarding the importance of close people-to-people ties, Institute of Islamic Understanding Malaysia regarding the ways for promoting harmony between people of different religions, and from the Thai Studies Programme of University of Malaya regarding the ways Malaysian people studying about their close neighbouring countries. Moreover, the students were given an opportunity to learn about the history of Kuala Lumpur, a city that was built from people of different races.
